All twelve tracks were written or co-written by this Mississippi born, North Carolina raised tune craftsman. Beneath this Coat and Tie, although radio friendly, is nothing short of a sonically and lyrically deep album. Shelby grabs the reins and harnesses the party crowd in a catchy track Beer Tooth then showcases his vocally soaring range in the heart wrenching lyrics of Silence. Next he rocks the boat to the smooth grooves of a horn section reminiscent of Motown in the song Slow Row.
